Alex Hurn – CEO
Alex graduated from the University of the West of England with a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying and has also qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Before founding HORDE Ltd, Alex was the Managing Director of Sillence Hurn Building Consultancy.
Alex, who is keenly interested in entrepreneurship, frequently attends or speaks at a variety of local, national, and international property events. Alex also sits on the RICS Matrics Hampshire & IOW Committee, having previously served as chairman.
Outside of work, you can find him on and off the fairway, battling to keep that single-figure handicap.
Chloe Hylton – Operational Surveying Director
Having previously headed up the residential surveying department, Chloe has a proven track record in delivering exceptional surveying and construction management services for a diverse array of projects.
Her deep-seated expertise and innovative approach have been instrumental in driving our projects to success, ensuring precision and adherence to the highest standards. Chloe’s leadership is not only marked by her technical acumen but also by her unwavering commitment to excellence.
Chloe is also a self-professed Star Wars fan, even owning a pair of R2D2 high heels which she never takes out of their box.
Nigel Chitere – Technical Operations Lead
Nigel works at the intersection of digital operations, marketing technologies, analytics, systems, and performance tracking. His focus is on helping organisations integrate technology into their day-to-day work, structure their data, and build the cross-functional delivery and operational intelligence needed to make better decisions at pace.
Results-driven professional with over 8 years of experience in product support, process optimisation, and cross-functional collaboration. Proven expertise in managing technical projects, streamlining operations, and delivering scalable solutions that enhance product performance and customer satisfaction. Skilled in process automation, issue resolution, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement to drive both business growth and client success.
Will Wyley – Head of Projects
A professional Project Manager with more than 20 years’ experience and extensive practical client-side and consultancy expertise.
Will is skilled at managing internal team members and leading multidisciplinary teams, whether working independently or as part of larger project groups. He also has experience reporting to managers, including those at the Chief Executive level.
Dominic Barber – Senior Building Surveyor
Dominic has predominantly worked in the public sector.
Before joining the HORDE, Dominic worked in London for a large national firm in the private sector, carrying out surveys for a variety of clients.
Dominic holds an MSc in Building Surveying and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).

Valerie Blandford – Surveying Executive
Before joining the HORDE, Valerie worked for a large multidisciplinary consultancy, providing support to the Valuation Team.
Valerie has a great deal of experience in property-related business administration, having worked in this field since leaving college, starting in estate agency and then working in local government for the Valuation Tribunal Service.
Away from work, Valerie is a big football fan and is a Southampton Football Club season ticket holder. When the weather permits, Valerie spends most of her spare time in the garden or at the allotment, where she also keeps bees. Valerie also likes to keep fit and enjoys cruises and skiing holidays, especially in her favourite holiday destination, Norway.
Samantha Liang – Finance Manager
With a degree in accounting and finance, Samantha has over ten years’ experience in the industry, now heading up the financial department at HORDE.
As a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Samantha has a wide variety of experience from wholesale trade groups to big corps and has worked in both accounts assistant and finance manager roles.
Driven by her enthusiasm for numbers, Samantha works with all of our clients and the internal team to ensure true transparency of every transaction and is always available to assist with financial advice when needed. Her drive and enthusiastic nature have been a great addition to the team. Outside of work, Samantha enjoys going for walks along the beach and trying new foods!
Aston Gordon – Senior Building Surveyor
Aston has provided services in nearly all areas of surveying, from commercial and residential to education and government.
With over 10 years of building surveying experience, Aston has worked with a multitude of clients, including the University of Sussex, Royal Mail, and the Ministry of Defence.
Aston holds a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying, incorporating membership of the CIOB, and recently obtained an A2 CofC license for carrying out UAV (drone) operations.
Matthew Dollery – Residential Building Surveyor
Matt has worked in Surrey and Hampshire for the last few years, helping private and institutional clients with a range of residential valuation and surveying services.
Academically, he gained a distinction in his Master’s Degree in Real Estate and Surveying. Thereafter, Matt spent some time working in South-West London, assisting as a surveyor on surveys and party wall work. Following that, he moved to Hampshire and spent time training, eventually qualifying for RICS AssocRICS accreditation for the first time in January 2022.
Christopher Woolcott – Senior Project Manager
As a Senior Project Manager, Chris had previously led high-value residential schemes like Tower Court and Naked House, specialising in JCT contracts and bespoke technical delivery.
He specialises in high-value, innovative schemes such as the £42m Tower Court project for Hackney Council, which featured specialised MEP for the Haredi Jewish community, and the GLA-backed ‘Naked House’ initiative in Enfield. Expert in JCT Design & Build and Intermediate contracts, Chris excels at navigating bespoke design requirements and delivering unique, affordable housing solutions that prioritize technical precision and community needs.
