Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Conduct Comprehensive Surveys: Perform detailed inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to assess their condition, identify defects, and provide recommendations for repairs and maintenance.
- Prepare Detailed Reports: Produce high-quality, accurate survey reports, including Home Buyer Reports, Building Surveys, and Condition Reports.
- Team Management / Mentoring: be the go to person in the team and support junior members with technical advice and guidance.
- Compliance and Regulation: Ensure all work complies with current building regulations, health and safety standards, and other statutory requirements.
- Project Management: Oversee refurbishment and construction projects from inception to completion, managing budgets, timelines, and contractors to ensure successful delivery.
- Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear, professional advice and ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Technical Advice: Offer expert guidance on a range of property issues, including planning applications, building control, and conservation.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry developments, standards, and technologies to continually enhance service delivery.
What you’ll look like:
- Degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
- MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) preferred, or working towards chartership.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in building surveying.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software, such as AutoCAD and building information modelling (BIM) tools. In-depth understanding of building construction, pathology, and legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
